Inspired by her sister’s success, Sophie enrolled in an Access to HE Diploma at Grantham College. Following the successful completion of her Diploma, Sophie enrolled in an undergraduate degree in English Language and Linguistics at the University of Sheffield.
Lauren and Sophie's story
Sisters Lauren and Sophie Magilton have both benefitted from the transformative impact of the Access to HE Diploma which enabled them to pursue their studies in higher education.
Lauren was working as an Accounts Assistant at a mortgage brokers before completing her Access to HE programme, a course which enabled her to read English Literature at the University of Cambridge. After pursuing a postgraduate degree at the University of Oxford, Lauren returned to the University of Cambridge where she now works within their Education Quality and Policy Office.
Inspired by her sister’s success, Sophie enrolled in an Access to HE Diploma at Grantham College. Following the successful completion of her Diploma, Sophie enrolled in an undergraduate degree in English Language and Linguistics at the University of Sheffield.
Both sisters describe the incredible impact that the Diploma had on their lives, enabling them to pursue lifelong passions, meet new people and experience new adventures they previously did not think were possible.
