Access Validating Agencies (AVAs) develop, approve and monitor Access to HE courses. They are licensed by the Quality Assurance Agency for Higher Education (QAA) to act as awarding bodies and award the Access to HE Diplomas to successful students.
QAA regulates AVAs through its Recognition Scheme and is responsible for assuring quality of recognised Access to HE courses and the adequacy of standards of student achievement on these courses.
