Update for students - 25 September 2020
The COVID-19 outbreak is the most significant challenge we have all faced in at least a generation. QAA’s priority is to ensure that we continue to support Access to HE Diploma students during the pandemic.
We know that the current environment continues to be a challenging one, and we want all students to be supported as effectively as possible. Access to HE providers are adapting to new ways of delivery and assessment. They are developing materials to help you get the most out of your learning so you can be prepared for progression into higher education, training or employment. There are also procedures in place to allow you to request extensions to deadlines and to let your course provider know if there are circumstances that are affecting your academic performance.
You will receive grades for all graded units you complete and these grades are provisional until they are confirmed by the Final Awards Board. No estimated grades will be awarded.
It is QAA’s priority to ensure you receive fair and robust results and that the distribution of grades this year follow a similar pattern to the grades received in previous years. Access Validating Agencies (AVAs) will continue to support course providers in implementing robust quality assurance mechanisms to ensure consistency is applied across all Access to HE Diplomas awarded.
