Project to support a review of QAA's current and future management of its responsibilities for Access to HE
Access to HE is a successful scheme that has the potential to make further significant contributions to opening up higher education opportunities to adult learners from across a wide range of backgrounds. QAA's Board of Directors has noted that a point has been reached where current arrangements may no longer be sufficient to maintain fully the level of service provided by QAA and to accommodate likely future developments.
Professor Gareth Parry and Dr Anne Thompson have been appointed as evaluators for the project to:
- provide an independent overview of the developments in Access to HE since 2004, with specific reference to the role of QAA
- identify possible areas of development and ways of enhancing QAA’s management of Access to HE, identifying enablers and inhibitors to action
- assess the associated risks to emerge from the review and the risks of non-action.
The evaluators will be conducting interviews with key stakeholders and will report to the QAA Board of Directors later in the year
Further details are provided in the Project specification (PDF) and Request for an Evaluator (PDF).
