QAA's Access Recognition and Licensing Committee
Responsibility for the overall operation of the Recognition Scheme lies with a QAA Board committee, the Access Recognition and Licensing Committee (ARLC).
The ARLC carries out its responsibilities through:
- reviewing applications from bodies seeking to become a licensed access validiating agency (AVA)
- monitoring AVAs through receipt and scrutiny of annual reports
- reviewing AVAs on a periodic basis, following which reports are published which specify any conditions the AVA has to meet before its licence can be renewed.
ARLC's subgroups
The ARLC has a number of advisory subgroups made up of practitioners and other stakeholders. They are engaged with a variety of important tasks.
Current subgroups are:
- Access Qualification Development Group (currently inactive)
- Access Data Development Group
- Review Method Development Group (currently inactive)
New members required for the ARLC
We are inviting applications for new members of the ARLC in the following categories:
- FE sector - head of institution
- FE sector - other
- others with appropriate experience (2) - who may come from higher or further education or who may have other relevant experience.
