Mike Farmer
Independent educational consultant
Mike Farmer is an education and training consultant working in the field of widening participation. He is a graduate of Keele University and has a masters degree in education management from the Open University.
He worked in further and higher education for 40 years before retiring as Head of Widening Participation at the University of Gloucestershire in 2006. He is chair of Aimhigher West Partnership, and of the Governors of Stroud College, and is a Board member Open College Network South West Region.
Mike helped set up the first Access to HE course in Gloucestershire, has been an Access Moderator and Chair of an AVA, and is an Access Reviewer. He was made an honorary life member of NATFHE (now the University and College Union) in 2006.
