Action on Access

Access to Higher Education and Student Success Summit 21 November 2018

Created by Action on Access in partnership with Universities UK. Informative, interesting and unmissable - as well as being great value for money.  Action on Access Summit will be a great place to meet and network with your peers.  We still have places left and it will be a great place to meet and network with your peers.

We have keynotes covering the key current issues from Professor Steven Spier, Vice Chancellor Kingston U; Professor Stephanie Marshall, Vice-Principal Queen Mary U; Chris Millward, Director for Fair Access and Participation, Office for Students; and Ian Coates, Director, Post 16 Strategy and Providers, and Higher Education Policy at Department for Education (not yet confirmed). The Summit chair is Professor John Storan, Principal Action on Access and Continuum WP Research centre, University of East London.

You will have workshop choices from:

  • transitions for disabled students Greenwich University/UUK;
  • second chances for prisoners Unlock/Lord Longford Trust;
  • student engagement Liz Thomas, NUS/Push;
  • suicide-safer Worcester university/UUK;
  • Very hard to reach and help learners SCIP Alliance/GSM/CHEER/LKMco;
  • Measures of Equality UCAS/UEL;
  • more mature students Birkbeck;
  • and a panel on raising attainment and student success with panelists from GSM, Coventry, Kings and LKMco.
