Nominations invited for Access to HE Awards

The search is on for colleges and universities which have offered an outstanding service to their Access to HE students.

Introduced last year, the Access to HE annual awards scheme honoured City of Bristol College and the University of Sunderland in its inaugural ceremony. It also recognised the work of North Lindsey College and the Western Access Progression Agreement by awarding them certificates of commendation.

The winners were judged to have offered outstanding communication with and provision for Access to HE students as they took their journey from college to higher education.

This year the awards, which are organised by Access to HE regulators the Quality Assurance Agency for Education (QAA), will be looking for the college which is judged to have made the most effective use of information and communications technology to support the learning and assessment of Access to HE students.

They will also be looking for the higher education institution which is judged to have provided the most comprehensive, clear and accurate information about entry requirements for Access to HE applicants.

The closing date for nominations for the awards is 16 May 2014 and the winners will be notified on 6 June. They will be presented with their awards at a special ceremony at the QAA Annual Conference on 26 June 2014.

Further information about the awards, including details about how to apply, are available on the QAA website (opens in a new window).
