Are you interested in working with QAA on the quality assurance and regulation of Access to HE?
New member of the Access Recognition and Licensing Committee
The Quality Assurance Agency for Higher Education (QAA) safeguards quality and standards of UK higher education. QAA also has a remit for regulating and developing Access to HE Diploma courses and providing advice to government in this area. QAA's work in Access to HE is overseen by the Access Recognition and Licensing Committee (ARLC), a cross-sector committee which reports to the QAA Board of Directors.
We are currently inviting applications to fill a vacancy on the ARLC for a senior manager from the higher education sector. We are looking, in particular, for an individual who holds a post at senior level and who, ideally, has experience and current responsibilities relating to undergraduate admissions. Applicants should have a secure understanding of the current context and challenges for the progression of Access to HE students into higher education.
QAA has adopted a Single Equality Scheme and is committed to diversity. Applications are particularly welcome from members of communities that are under-represented in public life.
Further details about the ARLC and its work are available on the Access to HE website.
How to apply
Applications should be submitted by email attachment to email@example.com. Potential applicants who wish to have an informal discussion about the Committee's work may contact Kath Dentith, Head of Access, by email (firstname.lastname@example.org) or telephone (01452 557109).
Applicants should provide:
- a statement about the nature of their interest in the work of the ARLC; their previous involvement in Access to HE; and relevant areas of expertise that they would bring to the Committee (see further details)
- a curriculum vitae which highlights experience which is relevant to the Committee's work.
Applications must be received by 7 November 2014.
