Are you interested in working with QAA on the development of the Access to HE Diploma?
Members of the Access Qualification and Development Group
The Quality Assurance Agency for Higher Education (QAA) safeguards standards and improves the quality of UK higher education. QAA also has a remit for regulating and developing the Access to HE Diploma and providing advice to government on these matters. QAA's work in the development of the Access to HE Diploma is overseen by the Access Qualification Development Group (AQDG). This group is a sub-committee of the Access Recognition and Licensing Committee (ARLC), which reports to the QAA Board of Directors. Although not a standing committee, the group has been needed to support an extensive programme of work on Diploma development which is expected to continue for several years. Group members each serve for two years, so one member in each of the three membership categories retires each year. We are therefore looking to recruit a new member in each of the following categories:
- Access Validating Agencies
- Further education (FE) sector - senior manager/curriculum manager with experience of Access to HE Diploma programmes
- Higher education admissions
For the FE sector representative, we are looking, in particular, for individuals with senior experience in organisations that deliver the Access to HE Diploma (predominantly FE colleges in England and Wales). This experience will, ideally, include both Access to HE experience and senior responsibility for quality.
The committee is chaired by a member of the ARLC.
QAA has adopted a Single Equality Scheme and is committed to diversity. Applications are particularly welcome from members of communities that are under-represented in public life.
