Access Qualification and Development Group vacancies filled
Members of the Access Qualification and Development Group
The Quality Assurance Agency for Higher Education (QAA) safeguards standards and improves the quality of UK higher education. QAA also has a remit for regulating and developing the Access to HE Diploma and providing advice to government on these matters. QAA’s work in the development of the Access to HE Diploma is overseen by the Access Qualification Development Group (AQDG), a sub-committee of the Access Recognition and Licensing Committee (ARLC). The ARLC reports to QAA's Board of Directors.
AQDG is a 'task and finish' group to support specific development projects associated with the Access to HE Diploma. During the academic year 2013-14 the group oversaw the implementation of the revised Access to HE Diploma specification. The main items of work that it will focus on in 2014-15 will be a review of AVAs’ operation of quality systems with regard to the processes of validation, standardisation and moderation.
We have selected a new member in each of the following categories.
- Access Validating Agencies
- Further education (FE) sector - senior manager/curriculum manager with experience of Access to HE Diploma programmes
For the FE sector representative, we are looking, in particular, for individuals with senior experience in organisations that deliver the Access to HE Diploma (predominantly FE colleges in England and Wales). This experience will, ideally, include both Access to HE experience and senior responsibility for quality.
QAA has adopted a Single Equality Scheme and is committed to diversity. Applications are particularly welcome from members of communities that are under-represented in public life.
